John and Estera Vatran

Contributions to our fundraising event for the Mountain View Camp and Conference Center in Romania totaled $25,630.00 for which we truly thank the Lord.  We want to share the message that John and Estera Vatran relayed to us. 

"PRAISE THE LORD!!!! We are just amazed at how GOOD the Lord is. We surely did not expect such a GENEROUS gift.  What a wonderful way to start the New Year.  We are so encouraged and GRATEFUL for everything. We appreciate so much your determination and sacrifice on our behalf.  It took a lot of love to make all this possible.

First, we want to THANK YOU Effie, John, Tim, Hanna and Jessica, from our hearts for being FBCLA's ambassadors of love.  Second, we say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, with a grateful heart to all who participated in this great project.  We also say a special THANK YOU to pastor Randy Wilson and the Missions Committee for considering us and the ministry here in Romania worthy of prayer and financial support.  For us it is a privilege to be a part of FBCLA's mission family."

20 Sunday  ~ Missionaries of the Week: Kevin and Marcy Carlson, Ecuador (Avant Ministries). Kevin and Marcy cut short their US visit and returned to Ecuador to care for Marcy’s mom, who had fallen and broken her hip.  Please pray for her (Marian) as she recovers, and for Marcy and others who are caring for her.

21 Monday  ~  CityTeam Youth Outreach Department is committed to raising a generation of urban youth leaders equipped to lead productive lives. Through weekly discipleship groups, Bible studies and recreational activities, the youth are being trained to be agents of change in their own communities.  Birthday ~ Rich Lackey, UK

22 Tuesday  ~  Our Ministry Team in Southwest Asia. Pray for those who have responded by e-mail and received New Testaments, that they will now respond to an offer for a free film on DVD that traces the main message of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.   

23 Wednesday  ~  Clay and Kelly Elliot, local (Fellowship of Christian Athletics). Pray for additional involvement of students in high school campus sports ministries, for the 1000 new believers now witnessing in their campus and home life, and for health and vision in leading this work.  Birthday ~ Kelly Elliott

24 Thursday  ~  Short Term Missions Trips in 2008 (FBCLA). Pray for participants and leadership for our missions trips this year, to Honduras, to Camp MayMac in the Santa Cruz Mountains, and to Brazil.

25 Friday  ~  Steve and Laura Reed, Sacramento (Missions Door). Praise God that Laura has been free of cancer for 5 years.  Prayer requests are for the launching of new ministries in India and Haiti, economic aid development and Partnership Ministries’ first medical team.

26 Saturday  ~  Fabian and Elvia Molina; Ogden, UT (Missions Door). Pray for this Spanish-speaking church, which was begun about a year ago. Molina and other leaders moved up from Mexico.
