Kevin and Marcy Carlson
Kevin and Marcy serve in Ecuador with Avant Ministries. Kevin teaches theology courses to young people who serve in the national churches. They both also teach children through Child Evangelism Fellowship. Kevin and Marcy grew up in Ecuador with missionary parents so they are well-equipped to serve in that country, knowing the language and the culture. Kevin also has a ministry amongst the Quichua Indians. He is studying their language so that he can be more effective in his discipling ministry. Kevin began his ministry in Colta, Ecuador, where he became reacquainted with Marcy, who had been a friend from high school. He and Marcy married in November, 2002, and moved to the Pacific coast town of Guayaquil to continue in ministry. Kevin is the son of Charlie and Gloria Carlson, who have been members of our church since the mid-1990’s. Charlie is one of our teachers in our Life Groups and Gloria teaches in our Children’s Ministries and with Child Evangelism Fellowship. Please pray for Ecuador, for its people and for peace with adjoining countries. Kevin and Marcy Carlson |
27 Sunday ~ Missionaries of the Week: Child Evan-gelism Fellowship. Pray for this world-wide ministry with chapters in 150 countries and personal ministry to 6 million children each year. 28 Monday ~ Aaron and Nancy Palmatier, Arizona (Missions Door). In his new role as Asia director for the mission, Aaron will be going to Cambodia in July. His son, Manuel, graduates from 8th grade this spring and has asked to go as a graduation present. They have started saving to take Nancy, Manuel and Karina on this trip. 29 Tuesday ~ Jews for Jesus. Pray for Moishe Rosen, founder of Jews for Jesus, who doesn’t get around as well anymore, but preaches almost every Sunday in an S.F. area church. He says that preaching is something he still gets excited about. 30 Wednesday ~ N.T. and Joy Dellinger, Belize (Missions Door). Please pray for the concentrated efforts of Operation Andrew in the country of Belize. Pray that hundreds of people will be won to Jesus and discipled. 31 Thursday ~ Dan and Vicki Barram; Salem, OR (Missions Door). Please continue to pray for Dan and Vicki as they lead campus ministries in the Pacific NW. Praise God for good fellowship with the Willamette faculty. 1 Friday ~ Marty and Denise Shaw, Director Asia (WorldVenture). Pray for Sharon, a WorldVenture missionary whom Marty met in Mongolia. She is the only foreigner in the entire state in which she lives (in the middle of the Gobi Desert), but is having a real impact through the educational system and the state hospital. She is being allowed to discourage abortions. 2 Saturday ~ Paulo and Ireni Mota, Brazil (WorldVenture). Pray for Ireni, who is currently in the States speaking in New Jersey, Minnesota, and Iowa. Then, from February 4-6, she will be speaking at Northwestern College in Minneapolis. |
