Missionaries of the Week:

Herode & Edline Guillomettre

guillomettre

Herode and Edline are native Haitians who lead the ministries of Missions Door in Haiti.  Herode has been instrumental in planting 9 churches on the island and oversees their ministry.  He is also a national leader in organizing national days of prayer and other events to encourage Haiti to turn to Christ.  Haitians have been held captive in bondage to Satan worship for the past 200 years.  Herode believes the time has come for the nation to turn to Christ. He is very encouraged by the last election, which brought to the presidency a good, honest man.

First Baptist Church of Los Altos contributed $4,000.00 to provide a concrete roof on one of the churches in Haiti.  The people are rejoicing in this gift and the protection from the elements that it provides. Pray for Haiti, its people, the Guillomettres and other members serving in ministry.

Herode and Edline are the parents of two little girls: Deinlee, age 9, and Leissa, age 5.

23 Sunday  ~  Missionaries of the Week: Herode and Edline Guillomettre, Haiti (Missions Door). Pray that God will supply the need of a special project called “Haiti School for Orphaned Youth.” Many parents have died from AIDS/HIV and the young people need help for school benches, supplies and educational materials.

24 Monday  ~ Stephen and Martha Steiner are members of our church who go short-term each summer to encourage and support Hargitha Christian Camp, a ministry to children in the Transylvania region of Romania. The Romanian team from last summer enjoyed visiting the camp and several of the churches.

25 Tuesday  ~ John and Linda Crone, Texas (Josh McDowell Ministries, CCC).  Pray for wisdom, as this team is able to share the gospel in China for the 2008 Olympics, amongst the athletes and attendees.

26 Wednesday  ~ Paul Nuth in Cambodia now has a group of seven key national church planters whom he trains for the equipping of the ministry.  In Kampot Province, so many are committed to following Christ that they baptized 735 believers last fall.  There were 2,000 believers on the beach that day to celebrate this baptism.

27 Thursday  ~ Josh and Cecil Wroten, Newark (CBA/NCN). The church plant, Morning Star, is doing very well. Property has been donated to them for the building of their own church.  Pray for church growth and sufficient funds to build.

28 Friday  ~ Ken and Bola Taylor (WV). The Taylors are now hearing steady reports that the Japanese choir members who have been singing about Jesus for years are coming to believe in Him – about 80% of them now.

29  Saturday ~ Larry and Laura Wildemuth, local (Hospital Chaplains). Pray for the staff of chaplains who care for spiritual needs of patients, their families and the staff at hospitals.  Sometimes they are witnesses to new life in Christ born of the Spirit, and sometimes they are a link in the chain that brings someone closer to the Lord.
