Missionaries of the Week:

Jews for Jesus

jews for jesus

The organization Jews for Jesus was founded about 20 years ago in San Francisco by Moishe and Ceil Rosen.  As the organization states in their title, their purpose is to persuade Jews that Jesus Christ is their promised Messiah.  Their mode of operation has traditionally been street evangel-ism, witnessing and passing out very creative tracts in major cites. Their goal is to witness in every city in the world outside of Israel that has more than 25,000 Jews.  They hold campaigns in the chosen city, bringing staff and volunteers from all of their locations.  The campaigns are called Behold Your God. In New York City alone, there are over one million Jews, most of them of Russian heritage.

Moishe is still involved in the ministry, but the director now is David Brickner.  Moishe spends time online, talking to seekers.  He has limited mobility at his age and uses a wheelchair.  It is interesting to observe that
Gentiles are part of the fruit of this ministry. They, too, meet the Jews for Jesus teams on the street or online.  Jews for Jesus also uses media and publications to share their message.
